In this blog, we are talking monthly goals.
In the beginning of January, I decided to make a list of goals I wanted to accomplish both as an author and life in general. And as January ends, I wanted to look back at what I accomplished and what I need to improve on.
The goals I did accomplish are as followed: I stared reading a book, spent time with family, attended my first book event of the year, finished writing a chapter of book 3, exercised some, started this website, created new business cards and made a few shirts for myself and family.
What I didn’t quite accomplish: I didn’t finish reading the book I started, but was close. I wanted to write at least two chapters this month. Didn’t go somewere cool with my husband, although it’s been cold and snowy.

I am so glad that I was able to attend the Adult Book Fair in Springfield, IL this month! It was a wonderful event, and I met a lot of nice people there. I hope to attend again next year. While there I sold many books and passed out my new bookmarks and stickers with them. I was also able to make a Tiktok video to show off the event a little. Through that video, I met Penny from Audio Animated Studios. We spoke to each other, and I soon plan on having signed books sold from her website as well as from her store in Litchfield! Stay tuned for more updates on that. I’m now making a new list of goals for February which I hope to accomplish most of it.
February Goals
- Write 2 chapters or more in book 3
- Keep an eye out for book events
- Sign a large batch of paperback books
- Take signed books to Litchfield store
- Create a newsletter template for email subscribers
- Figure out a blog and newsletter schedule to follow for website
- Make more videos for Tiktok/reels
- Spend time with family
- Finish reading book from January
- Read a new book for February

That’s it for now! Let’s see if I can accomplish most if not all of my goals this month. How about you, do you have any goals set for February?
