Hey guys!
I’m a novice to blogging, so give me some time to figure this all out. I’ve decided along with my brand-new website, why not give the blogger lifestyle a try as well? I don’t have a set schedule in place yet, but I’ll try do my best!
So, first of all welcome! I’m so happy you’re taking the time to go through my website and wound up here. If you haven’t seen by now, my name is Kendra Slone and I’m the author of the YA
fantasy series The Hailwic Chronicles. There are only two books out in the series at the moment. I’m currently working on the third book which hasn’t been named yet.
In 2018, I decided it was finally time to try to really sit down and finish writing this story that’s been in my head for years. To make if official, I made an author page on Facebook and shared it with my friends and family with a quickly made cover photo and a promise to keep everyone updated on my progress. That way, I felt like I wasn’t writing just for me, but for my followers as well.
From there, I got to work. I wrote when I could, a lot during my lunch breaks and after work. I watched a lot of YouTube videos on how to build yourself up as a self-published author, how to find an editor, what kind of editing you needed, and how to find a good cover designer. All the things a growing author needs, right?
Finally in October of 2020, I published The Shifter. It was one of my proudest moments. To have a book that I wrote in my hands and to see other people with it was so exciting! I got back to writing book 2 after that, but it went a lot slower. Life happens.
In June of 2024, The Forgotten Prince was published. You can imagine I was pretty proud of that moment too. My favorite part about publishing book 2 was the excitement from the readers who enjoyed the first book.
Now I’m working on the third book in the series and also trying to establish more of a following. I’ve made some goals for myself this year and I’m going month by month. If you’re reading this, I’d love for you to follow my journey! I’ve set up this website and I’m looking into doing more events whenever I can. You can follow me here or sign up for my newsletter.
